アメリカの結婚式, (American Weddings)

アメリカで結婚式は大きいビジネスです。平均的な結婚式で家族や友だちが150人いて、350万円ぐらいです。平均的な結婚式は30分間、それからパーティーは４時間があります。そのパーティーは”レセプション”とも言いです。でも、とくにとても宗教的な結婚式は時々４時間も、それからレセプションがあります。長いと思いませんか！　たいていアメリカ人は”花嫁の特別な日”と言っています。だからたくさん企画があります。そして結婚式の日には花嫁悲しくなったり、焦ったりしません。”Bridezilla"というアメリカのテレビばんぐみはゴジラみたいに変装する花嫁についての番組です。楽しいけれどこわいいです。たいてい花嫁は白いドレスを着て、ベールを被ります。たくさんの種類のベールがあります。昔々、昔の人はめっちゃ長いベールをよく着ました。レセプションではケーキのテーブルはルベールそのベールで飾りました。それから、一人目の子どものベッドもそのベールで飾りました。ベールは包み紙たいに花嫁の顔を隠しているので、結婚式では花嫁のお父さんは花婿ために花嫁ベールを取って花嫁の顔をみせてあげます。花嫁と花婿はあまり手袋をしません。そして、花嫁は古い物と新しい物と借り物と青い物を身につけなければいけません。その物はたてい感動的です。花嫁は足に青いガーター（garter)をします。レセプションでは花婿はガーターを外して、結婚していない男の人に投げつけます。花嫁は結婚していない女の人に花を投げつけます。”ガーターを受ける男の人と花を受ける女の人は次結婚する”と言っています。たいてい花嫁の女性の親戚と友だちはブライドメイなになります。きれいで、高いワンピースを着たり、花嫁をてつだってあげます。平均的なブライドメイドのワンピースは18,000円です。結婚式ではMaid of honorは花嫁の花を持って、レセプションではスピーチをします。花婿の男性の親戚と友だちはグルームスマンになり、タキシードを着ます。Best man はリングを持ったり、レセプションではスピーチをします。タキシードも18,000円です。たいていMaid of honorとBest manは花嫁と花婿の好きな人です。私の結婚式では親友がMaid of honorを、フィルさんのBest manは一番古くからの友だちがやりましたが、時々姉妹や兄弟がやることもあります。ブライドメイドとグルームスマンも好きな人と兄弟です。花嫁と花婿はその人たちのことが好きなほうがいいですが、時々強制です。昔々花嫁とMaid of honorとブライドメイド白いドレスを着て、ベールを被りました。それは悪魔を混乱させて花嫁から悪魔を遠ざけるためでした最近じゃないです。たいてい、花婿は結婚式場の前にたちます。Maid of honorとBest manは花婿のところまでに一緒に行きます。それから、ブライドメイドとグルームスマンが行きます。次はFlower girlとring bearerです。花嫁とお父さん最後です。花嫁と花婿に若い女の子と男の子の知り合いがいたら、花嫁が結婚式に入る前に女の子は花びらをちらして、男の子はリングを持ってきます。Flower girl とring bearer です。レセプションでは花嫁と花婿は踊ったり、ケーキを食べさせあったり、シャンパンを飲んだります。結婚式に来る人はプレゼントをもっていきます。たいてい家族で使う物です。じゃあ、結婚式に行ったら、何を着たほうがいいですか。難しね！後日かきます。

In America, weddings are a big business. At an average wedding there are 150 people and they costs around $30,000. Average wedding ceremony is 30 minutes and there there is a party. This party is called a reception. But, at especially very religious weddings, the ceremony can last up to 4 hours and then there is the reception. It’s a long time isn’t it?! Usually, American’s say the it is the bride’s special day so there is a lot of planning. On the day of the wedding the bride should not become upset. The American television program, “Bridezilla,” is about brides who become like Godzilla. It is funny but scary. Usually the bride wears a white dress and veil. There are many kinds of veils. A long time ago, they wore a very long veil At the reception the veil was used to decorate the cake table. Then it was used to decorate the first child’s crib. The veil is like wrapping paper, so at the wedding, the bride’s father unwraps her for the groom. The bride and groom rarely wear gloves.The bride also needs something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. These things are often sentimental. The bride often wears a  blue garter on her leg. At the reception, the groom will remove it and throw it at the men who are not married. At the reception the bride also throws her flowers to the woman who are not married. They say the man who catches the garter and the woman who catches the flowers will be the next to be married. Usually, the brides close female relatives and friends become bridesmaids. They will wear a pretty and expensive dress and help the bride. The average bridesmaid’s dress costs $150. At the wedding the maid of honor will hold the brides flowers and at the reception will give a speech. The groom’s close male relatives and friends will become groomsmen. They will wear tuxedos. The best man will hold the rings and at the reception will give a speech. Tuxedos usually cost $150 also. Usually, the maid of honor and the best man are the bride and grooms favorite people. At my wedding my maid of honor was my best friend and Phil's best man was his friend he knew the longest amount of time, but sometimes they are the older sister and older brother. The bridesmaids and groomsmen are also the favorite people or siblings. It is better if the bride and groom are fond of these people, but sometimes it is obligation. A long time ago, the bride, maid of honor, and bridesmaids would wear a white dress and veil. It was to confuse evil spirits and keep them away from the bride.　It is not so nowadays. Usually the groom stands at the front of the wedding ceremony. The Maid of honor and best man go to the front together. Then the bridesmaids and groomsmen in pairs. The flower girl and ring bearer are next. The bride and her father are last. If the bride and groom know a young girl and young boy, the young girl will scatter flower petals before the bride enters the ceremony and the young boy will bring the rings. At the reception, the bride and groom dance, feed each other cake, and drink champagne. People who go to a wedding bring presents. Usually household items. So, if you go to a wedding, what should you wear? That is difficult! I will write about it later.

冬休みと新しい学期 (My Winter Vacation)

冬休みはよかったです。カリフォルニア州のサンディエゴに友だちの結婚しきに行きました。 サンディエゴで６年かん住んでいましたので、大好きです。サンディエゴのほうが私の町より大きですので、サンディエゴのほうが私の町よりたくさんの国の文化を見ることができます。私の町にはいい日本食や韓国料理のレストランがあまりありません。だから、サンディエゴに行った時には、めっちゃ外国の食べ物を食べます。今回の旅行韓国のバーベキューややきそばやかつどんを食べました。おいしくて、うれしかったよ！　

私の町に帰えった後もおもしろかったです。私は日本人の友だちに運転すのるを教えてあげたり、すいさいが（水彩画）をかいたり、クリスマス休みに家族に会ったりしました。

先週大学がはじまりました。新しい授業はおもしろいと思います。中国の文学授業と東アジアの地理授業と日本語授業と世界の音楽の文化を学ぶ授業と日本のじじもんだい授業とります。　

Winter break was great. I went to San Diego, California for a friends weddings. I lived in San Diego for 6 years so I love it there. San Diego is bigger than my city, so San Diego has more types of nationalities. My city does not have many good Japanese and Korean restaurants for example. Therefore, when we visit San Diego, we eat lots of foreign food. On this trip we had Korean barbeque, yakisoba, and katsudon.

After we returned to my city, it was interesting. I taught my Japanese friend how to drive, painted some watercolor paintings, and visited family on Christmas, for example.

Tomorrow, school begins again. I think my new classes will interesting. I am taking Chinese literature class, East Asian geography, Japanese language, world culture music, and current topics in Japan.
